Valencia, Venezuela

All three US swimmers did exceptionally well at the 4th Pam American Sports Games for the Deaf. They brought home 15 medals: 9 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. This is quite remarkable with only three swimmers.

Peggy Liang (Vancouver, WA) broke 5 Pan Am records in the 100 breast 1:27.06, 100 free 1:07.39, 200 IM 2:48.73, 100 back 1:21.05 and the 100 fly 1:13.06

The highlight was the 50 free where Marissa Larson (Rochester, MN) won the 50 free in 34.02.

Jimmy McGowen (Palm Coast, FL) did very well in both the 100 and 200 back 1:12.30 and 2:39.53 respectively.
